Providers
Oregon has abortion services in the I-5 corridor of Western Oregon, primarily in Portland and Eugene. Access to abortion and family planning services is very sparse in the southern and eastern parts of the state. However, one clinic is in Eastern Oregon and another clinic is in Southern Oregon.
Public Assistance for Abortion
Oregon has state funds through the Oregon Health Plan, called temporary medical cards, that pay for abortion. This program is though Adult and Family Social Services. It is similar in nature to Washington States DSHS medical coupons. Individuals without green cards are not eligible for medical cards.
Other Options for Abortion Funding
- Downtown Women's Clinic clients can receive funds through the Third Wave Foundation in New York.
- Abortion Assistance Fund of Oregon & SW Washington, operated by Planned Parenthood of the Columbia/Willamette.
- Network for Reproductive Options is a loan based fund in Eugene, OR that serves residents of Central and Southern Oregon who are not eligible for Oregon Health Plan.
Practical Support
Network for Reproductive Options provides lodging, transportation and meals.
Abortion Law
Parental consent/notification and waiting periods are not required in Oregon. There are no laws on the books in Oregon that limit how late in the pregnancy abortions can be performed.
