Alaska Providerrs

Anchorage, Palmer, Valdez, and Kenai are the only cities with abortion providers. There are no providers in Fairbanks or Juneau. In addition, traveling within Alaska can be extremely expensive and some women find it cheaper to fly to Washington for their abortions. Women can obtain abortions up to 14 weeks, primarily in Anchorage.

Public Assistance for Abortion

Alaska Medicaid and Denali KidCare pay for abortion and travel to Washington. The only Washington provider that accepts AK Medicaid is the Feminist Women's Health Centers in Renton, Lakewood, and Yakima

Other Options for Abortion Funding

Planned Parenthood of Alaska in Anchorage has the Choice Assistance Loan Fund available to all residents of Alaska who are not eligible for Alaska Medicaid. They can also accept Medicaid applications and help with obtaining travel vouchers.
